Last night, FIM President Jorge Viegas was joined by representatives from many National Federations, members of the FIM Management, riders past and present and the wider FIM family for a special dinner celebrating the centenary edition of the FIM 6DAYS® – Enduro of Nations.
The gathering brought together the international motorcycling community to honour the history of the competition and the people who have sustained it for more than a century. The rich history of the event was illustrated by the presence of legendary 6DAYS® riders including Jérémy Carpentier, Stefan Everts, Ruben Faria, Josep Garcia, Jessica Gardiner, Rachel Gutish, Antoine Méo, Brandy Richards, Helder Rodrigues and Andrea Verona.First held in 1913, the 6DAYS® is the oldest event on the FIM calendar. Contested by national teams over six days of racing, it has become a celebration of endurance, teamwork and national pride, with a legacy spanning more than one hundred years.

The dinner provided an ideal opportunity to reflect on that shared heritage and recognise the contributions of riders, teams, National Federations, organisers and volunteers whose commitment has sustained the event across generations. With racing legends and members of the wider FIM family coming together, the occasion also celebrated the friendships and international relationships built through participation in the 6DAYS®.As Grândola welcomes the landmark centenary edition, the evening connected the event’s rich past with its continuing role in bringing the global Enduro community together. It was a moment to celebrate a shared achievement and look ahead to the next chapter of the FIM 6DAYS® – Enduro of Nations.

In this regard the key stakeholders of this year’s event were invited to the stage to receive commemorative plates from FIM President Jorge Viegas, these included the Mayor of Santiago do Cacém - Mr Bruno Pereira; Mayor of Sines - Mr Álvaro Beijinha; Mayor of Alcácer do Sal and President of CIMAL - Mrs Clarisse Campos; Mayor of Grândola - Mr Luís Vital Alexandre; President of Turismo do Alentejo - Mr José Santos; Representative of Turismo de Portugal - Mr Nuno Madeira; President of the Federação de Motociclismo de Portugal - Mr ArmandoVieira Marques and finally CEO Enjoy and Fun - Mr Celestino Cruz.FIM President Jorge Viegas stated: “It was a very special moment to mark and celebrate the one hundredth edition of the FIM 6DAYS®, and to be able to share it with so many people who have directly or indirectly been a huge part of the history of this truly great competition. As many will know Enduro holds a special place in my own heart and the 6DAYS® will always hold a unique and fond place inside the FIM too.”“Any event that brings together so many riders from so many countries is always an important occasion, and the fact that the FIM 6DAYS® has been doing this for over one hundred years is just incredible. On behalf of the FIM I would like to thank each and every person who has played their part in keeping the 6DAYS® so special for so long. We can really look forward to a great week of racing here in Portugal and to many more great editions of the 6DAYS® for many years to come.”
